The Brief
The customer had recently had a new single-storey extension installed at the rear of their property, complete with large bifold doors opening onto the garden.
The garden needed to be redesigned around the new extension, creating a seamless connection between the house and the outdoor space.
The customer wanted:
A modern patio directly outside the extension.
A clean, contemporary finish to complement the new extension.
A retaining wall to manage the change in levels.
New luxury slatted fencing for privacy and style.
A low-maintenance garden.

What We Did
We carried out a number of landscaping and finishing works to bring the whole garden together.
Warm White Silicon Render
The new extension was finished in a warm white silicon render, creating a crisp contemporary appearance that works particularly well with the dark-framed bifold doors.
The retaining wall was also constructed from blockwork and finished in the same warm white silicon render, helping the different elements of the garden feel connected.
Smooth White Porcelain Patio
We installed a large smooth white porcelain patio directly outside the extension.
The light porcelain creates a bright, modern entertaining area and provides a strong visual connection between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
The patio also incorporates steps leading down towards the artificial lawn, creating a practical transition between the different levels of the garden.
Rendered Retaining Wall
Because of the change in levels between the patio and garden, a retaining wall was required.
We constructed the retaining wall using blockwork before finishing it with the same warm white silicon render used on the extension.
The wall was completed with porcelain coping, matching the patio and creating a neat, coordinated finish.
Luxury Slatted Fencing
New slatted fencing was installed along the right-hand side of the garden.
The horizontal slatted design provides privacy while giving the garden a more contemporary and premium appearance, complementing the modern extension and porcelain patio.
Artificial Grass
To complete the transformation, we installed new artificial grass across the remaining garden area.
This provides a consistently neat lawn with significantly less ongoing maintenance than natural grass, while creating a strong contrast against the bright porcelain patio.
