Complete Modern Garden Transformation in Oxshott, Surrey
A well-designed garden can completely change how you use your outdoor space. For this project in Oxshott, Surrey, our customer wanted to create a modern garden that would work perfectly for entertaining, relaxing and hosting summer parties.
The existing space was transformed into a contemporary outdoor area combining a raised porcelain patio, modern wall cladding and luxury artificial grass.
The result is a clean, sophisticated garden that connects seamlessly with the property's modern architecture.
The Brief
The customer wanted a complete garden transformation with a strong contemporary feel.
With outdoor entertaining in mind, they wanted a generous patio area where they could place outdoor furniture and enjoy summer gatherings, while still retaining a large area of lawn.
The design needed to feel modern, practical and cohesive with the existing property.
Raised Kandla Grey Porcelain Patio
A new raised patio area was created using 900 x 600mm Kandla Grey porcelain paving.
The raised design creates a defined outdoor entertaining area while also helping to overcome the change in levels between the house and garden.
The large-format porcelain provides a clean and contemporary appearance, making it an ideal choice for a modern garden.
The patio was finished with Anthracite Grey edging, creating a sharp contrast against the lighter Kandla Grey paving.
Bespoke Raised Patio and Retaining Wall
Creating the raised patio required a retaining structure to support the new level.
Rather than leaving the retaining wall as a purely functional element, we turned it into a key part of the design.
The front of the wall was clad using dark grey tiled brick slips, giving the structure a premium architectural finish.
The dark cladding works particularly well alongside the Anthracite Grey edging and the black-framed doors and windows of the property.
Seamless Grey Grouting
The Kandla Grey porcelain was finished with a seamless grey grout, helping to maintain the clean, contemporary appearance of the paving.
The subtle grout colour complements the porcelain rather than creating an overly contrasting grid, allowing the paving itself to remain the focus.
40mm Luxury Artificial Grass
To complete the transformation, we installed 40mm luxury artificial grass across the remaining garden area.
This provides a vibrant green lawn all year round while significantly reducing the ongoing maintenance associated with a traditional lawn.
The artificial grass also creates a strong contrast with the grey porcelain and dark wall cladding, bringing some warmth and greenery into the otherwise contemporary design.
Designed for Outdoor Entertaining
One of the main priorities for this project was creating a garden that could be enjoyed when entertaining friends and family.
The raised patio provides plenty of space for outdoor furniture and dining, while the surrounding artificial grass keeps the garden feeling open and spacious.
The combination of hard and soft landscaping creates clearly defined areas without making the garden feel overcrowded.
