The Customer's Brief
The existing wooden conservatory had become old and problematic. Water was coming through the roof, while there were also electrical issues within the existing structure.
The customers wanted a more suitable and fully renovated space rather than continuing to deal with the problems associated with the old conservatory.
The project therefore involved completely removing the existing structure and constructing a new extension that could provide a much more practical and finished space.
What We Did
We began by completely removing the old wooden conservatory and preparing the area for the new extension.
New foundations were dug before constructing the extension using blockwork.
The new structure was then insulated and fitted with new plumbing and electrical installations.
The exterior was rendered and painted, giving the new extension a clean finish that complements the existing property.
New Roof and Exterior Finishes
A new three-layer felt torch-on roofing system was installed, along with new fascias, soffits and guttering.
We also installed a new window and door, helping to complete the external transformation.
The combination of the new roof, rainwater goods, render, window and door has given the extension a completely different appearance from the original conservatory.
Completing the Interior
The work continued inside, where the new extension was fully renovated.
New plasterboard was installed before the walls were plastered and painted. LVT flooring was also installed to complete the floor finish.
With new electrics and plumbing incorporated into the project, the interior was brought together as a newly finished space rather than simply being an updated version of the original conservatory.
Attention to Detail
This project involved considerably more than replacing an old conservatory.
The existing structure was completely removed before the new extension was constructed, allowing the various elements of the project to be coordinated from the foundations through to the final internal finishes.
The new fascias, soffits and guttering, rendered exterior, roof, windows and door all contribute to a cohesive finish, while the internal plastering, painting and LVT flooring complete the transformation inside.
