Brazilian Black Porcelain Patio Transformation in Sutton
This patio project in Sutton was designed to give our returning customer a stylish and practical outdoor space without exceeding their budget.
Having recently invested in a home extension, the customer wanted to keep the cost of the landscaping work manageable while still creating somewhere they could comfortably enjoy their garden, with space for outdoor seating and a barbecue.
As we had previously completed their driveway the year before, we were delighted to return and help transform another part of their property.
A Stylish Patio Within Budget
The customer wanted a relatively small patio area but needed it to be practical enough for their chairs and barbecue.
Rather than overcomplicating the design, we focused on choosing quality materials and creating a clean, contemporary finish that worked within the available budget.
The result is a compact patio that makes excellent use of the available space while giving the garden a much more finished appearance.
Brazilian Black Porcelain Paving
For the main patio, we installed Brazilian Black porcelain paving.
The dark porcelain creates a sophisticated and contemporary look, particularly against the customer's brickwork and surrounding garden.
The natural variation within the paving also adds visual interest while retaining the clean appearance associated with porcelain.
Contrasting Light Grey Porcelain Edging
To frame the patio, we installed a light grey porcelain edging around the perimeter.
The contrast between the dark Brazilian Black paving and lighter edging gives the patio a defined border and helps emphasise the shape of the new outdoor space.
It is a relatively simple design detail, but it makes a significant difference to the finished appearance.
Making the Most of a Smaller Space
The customer didn't need a huge patio — they wanted a practical area where they could sit outside, enjoy the garden and use their barbecue.
Good garden design isn't always about making an area bigger. It's about making the space you have work for you.
This patio provides a dedicated outdoor seating and entertaining area without taking over the rest of the garden.
Returning Customer
This project was particularly rewarding because we had previously completed the customer's driveway the year before.
Building relationships with customers and being invited back to complete further work is something we really value.
